Dental Practices reopening from June 8th
You may have seen this announced on the Corona virus update on television on Thursday May 28th.
This was also the first time that we the dental profession were given this information!
The reality of the situation is that this date is the earliest that dental clinics will be allowed to see patients again. It is not a date that all clinics will be back to providing normal pre Covid-19 dental care.
The reopening and level of service will be dependant on the availability of correct PPE and the implementation of new operating procedures which have yet to be released by NHS England and the Chief Dental Officer.
These will involve among other measures; the maintaining of correct social distancing, extended appointment times to allow enhanced decontamination procedures, telephone triage and reduction of footfall within the clinic.
We hope that you will understand the necessity to implement all the changes before we can reopen.
Emegencies & Enquiries will still be dealt with by means of telephone consultation as per current guidelines, and we will help and advise as necessary

Following direction from the Government Chief Dental Officer the practice is temporarily closed. There will be no routine treatment available.
Routine treatment includes:
. Mild or moderate pain that responds to pain relief.
. Minor dental trauma
. Loose/displaced crowns, bridges or veneers.
. Fractured or loose fitting dentures.
. Fractured or lost fillings.
. Examinations, Scale and Polish.
. Bleeding gums.
For more urgent emergencies; for example:
. Large facial swellings
. Major trauma
. Extreme pain
